Admin not displaying variable Text

Hi

 

I have just installed osCommerce 2.2 and added the UK mod (before running installation)

 

In the Admin module the proper text is not being displayed only the variable names e.g.

HEADING_TITLE HEADING_TITLE_SEARCH

HEADING_TITLE_GOTO Top

 

 

TABLE_HEADING_CATEGORIES_PRODUCTS TABLE_HEADING_STATUS TABLE_HEADING_ACTION

TEXT_CATEGORIES 0

TEXT_PRODUCTS 0

 

EMPTY_CATEGORY

 

and not many buttons. the catalog is fine! Can someone point me in the right direction?
