MrPhil Posted September 21, 2010 Share Posted September 21, 2010 No problem for SEO with being in the root, although I would advise that being in "catalog/" is better, unless you will absolutely never have anything but the store on your site. With the store in catalog, you will need to transparently "redirect" visitors from your site root to the catalog, using .htaccess URL rewrites. The advantage is that it leaves your site root uncluttered with application files, and permits you to easily add other applications to other directories in the future (e.g., a forum, a blog, a gallery,...). Then you implement a site root landing page with common information and links to your applications. Just a matter of keeping future site growth in mind.
