There is a contribution for new products, but i think this only shows on the product listing page. Its not a big thing to add a drop down to your add a product page whereby you can select from choices as detailed by you above, then have this info show on the product_info.php page + the product_listing.php The problem will be that you may be updating these status a lot depending on the number of item you have.
