versaglobe
Completely fresh Debian install, I may be missing some simple php or mysql packages, it worked on the last computer I installed it on but that computer crashed:(. I've set the configure files to 777. I'm using localhost as hostname which worked on previous computer. the database is created and I can log in to mysql on the server fine. Thanks in advance for any light gleaned on this subject. I noticed I have a few red xs under the "server capabilities" box under php extensions on the configuration page, not sure if they were all checked off on the last install... versaglobe
ok I got my old computer working for about five minutes and the main difference is that I was using php4 instead of php5 and somehow had installed the php extension for mysql, if anybody know how to do this using Debian preferably with the synaptic package manager it would be greatly appreciated. versaglobe
issue resolved, I guess they took mysql support out of php5 so I went into synaptic package manager uninstalled all my php packages and reinstalled the php5-mysql package, works now Yippeee
