robustic
hi guys, i have this msg..at the top of the catalog/default.php Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: G:wampp2chtdocscatalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. can somehow help me there?
toolcrazy
It not a problem, it's a warning. You need to chmod your /catalog/includes/configure.php file to 444. This is so nobody can write to it and change your settings. Do the same to your /admin/includes/configure.php You can use any good ftp program to do this. Geotex
For some reason, I am getting the same message, even after changing permissions to 444. Any suggestions? I am hosting on an Apche server, but can't change any root settings. http://ameriwebs.net/catalog/default.php for anyone that wants to take a look. The cart is also installed on my secure server, with permissions set on both config files to 444. Same error. http://www.securewebexchange.com/ameriwebs...log/default.php GEOTEX from Houston, TX (George)
toolcrazy
Try a different FTP program. Like WS-FTP LE. Some FTP's don't change the permissions properly, I have found. Go into OSC's file manager and see what the actual premissions are. Steve -------------------------
Geotex
I have ws-ftp pro, and also used the web panel control to check status on these files. Both show r only for owner, user and other. I have the same problem with other instances of OSCommerce on these same hosters, so am just going to email tech support and see what they have to say. Thanks for the help. toolcrazy
I'd say it is a permission issue with the provider. FYI r = read w =write x = execute Steve -------------------------
