Switching Hosts

Today I am switching hosts. I'm moving from a Cpanel to another Cpanel enabled server. I have made a full backup so far. But when I uploaded it to the new Cpanel, my directory isn't the same as it was on the old Cpanel.

How can I get them to be the same??

Thanks,

Jeffrey

If your shop on the old host was at root put your new shop at root. Likewise, if your old shop was at /catalog/ you may need to create /catalog/ before you restore your files, really depends on how you saved everything. Easy with ftp.. a little harder if you tar'd or gzip'd everything.

Then you will have to maybe correct some paths in your configure.php files. Shouldn't take much.

It might help to tell us what is not the same...

On a different note, a lot of hosts will transfer the files for you from the old server to the new one. No need to upload a backup!

If I did it through FTP, how would I go about that? Just download everything, then upload it?
