Search broken

I know I've asked before but I get no response. This is infuriating! No matter what I search for in the forums I get no results later than the end of last year - i.e. nothing posted in 2010. I've tried different browsers and different PCs with the same result.

What is the matter with this site? I can't even find my own posts for this year.

Ever think it could possible be your problem and not this site's problem? It all works for me just fine. I would probably check anything in my settings that have to do with time. Then use the advanced search and specify dates within the search.

You have probably already done all that, i know... Check your computer date? Is it set to 2010? Are you accessing through a proxy that may be altering the date? Have you tried from a different internet connection?

It's broken for me too (reported in General Topics > General Chit-Chat > Forum Software Upgrade). The returned list ends at December 20, 2009. Once in a while, if I search for my posts (Advanced Search, user name = MrPhil), I see today's posts too, but nothing in-between. In that board, they admit that it's a problem with the forum software, and nothing can or will be done about it. I'm using Firefox 3.6 on Win XP if anyone is keeping score. It does the same with Chrome and IE6. If there's some setting in my browser that will fix it, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

I initially assumed that it was a problem here. However, I checked computer dates (4 machines) and I don't connect via a proxy. What else could affect the dates?

No, I haven't tried from a different internet connection but thanks for the suggestion. I'll do it later today using my laptop when I go for lunch at the local pub.

Like you, I've tried using 4 different machines with Chrome; Opera; Firefox and even, as a last resort, IE.

It'll be interesting to see if I get a different result when I try a different ISP at lunchtime today.

Well, I'm now working a different isp and results are as before - broken! A search for my own posts shows nothing after last Dec. An 'Advanced Search' using dates 1/1/2010 to now shows my posts for today but nothing else.

I tried to contact the webmaster but got no reply. Doesn't anybody care? This is going to affect my choice of shopping cart for future clients since the forum is the only way to get any help with osC. At least with other carts, although costing money initially, there is good support available.

It's a great pity because I was getting quite fixed on osC when the board was working properly!

It seems to be fixed now. HPDL yelled at the forum developers and they seem to have got it working.

I rather think my explicit and extensive testing and results summary might have had something to do with Harald's action and outcome
