Customizing category Pages

Hello all,

 

I am trying to find a method of customising categoy pages to look like the home page with a custom image and formatted text above the category listing.

 

At present nothing in the addons site seems to be able to add both images and text. i need something similar to this please:

You can see a formatted header, text and an image displayed before the products. ( I know this page was created in html and the categories page is created dynamically)

I know hader tags SEO does this, but im sure i saw a seperate and probably easier to install add on for it.

Have you searched the add on for any?

Thank you for your reply. Yes I have extensively searched the addons section and cannot find anything like this.

Thanks again. Forgive my naivety but what exactly does this addon do? It seems to do something based on search engine optimisation?

Nic is correct in suggesting HTC SEO contribution and the others as they will do what you are requesting plus allow you to take control of your meta tags.

 

The Simple Template System also allows you to add any text, image, Flash, etc. to ANY page on your site, including specific category and product pages. You may want to give that a look as well.
