batgrrly1
My customer that has ordered from me used Paypal, I see an order on the OSC side, but no corresponding sales on the PayPal side. So, does this mean the order is incomplete, did not process on the PayPal side because the customer do not follow through? Why would there even be an order in the system if it did not complete?
Mort-lemur
Hi, The order is generated when the customer leaves your site and goes off to paypal. If the payment is not completed then you still have the order on OSC but no corresponding paypal payment. This is just the way OSC works and it confused me when I had this problem. Look to install the Paypal IPN module which sends OSC confirmation when the order is paid for. Thanks Hope this helps. Now running on a fully modded, Mobile Friendly 2.3.4 Store with the Excellent MTS installed - See my profile for the mods installed ..... So much thanks for all the help given along the way by forum members.

Is this module in the standard OSC kit, or as an add on? Thank you lemur :'( Thanks Hope this helps.
Mort-lemur
Hi, Sounds like the customer did not complete the payment process - sometimes paypal is a little tempremental with some cards. What I usually do is send the customer an email telling them that an order was generated but that the payment process was not completed and offering to help with the payment process if they wish to proceed - if they do then I send a paypal money request - which seems to work most of the time, if they dont I cancel the order after 48 hours. The paypal IPN module (add-on) can be found HERE thanks Now running on a fully modded, Mobile Friendly 2.3.4 Store with the Excellent MTS installed - See my profile for the mods installed ..... Mort-lemur
Hi Again, Try it yourself - register as a customer, buy something, checkout, go to paypal then just exit - you should see an OSC order being generated but obviously no payment. batgrrly1
Ah, I did contact them and got them to accept a paypal invoice order from me. Yes, it looks like a very silly hole in the software actually. Hmm, wonder there hasn't been a different fix, but yes, I will ask the techie to get the plugin in. There is other spring cleaning to do... Now, to migrate the rest of the customers off the old web site to using the new...it never ends. Thanks for you help and insight.
Guest
Hi, I do have a similar problem. I have set up PayPal Standard. But it does not work. As soon a customer wants to pay - they will be sent to the home page from paypal and not to the PayPal Standard payment page. Have tried it myself and so have my host and technical support from PayPal. All are telling me that is a bug within os commerce. I went from Forum to Forum to find out the right settings. I compared my settings on both ends (My Store and PayPal) and could not find anything wrong. Technical Service from PayPal told me that they do not get any information from my store. What is wrong that my store and paypal are not communicating. No error report no nothing. Can't find anything. Please who can help!!!!!!!!!!! Guest
If you enable the auto-return feature in PayPal it will ensure the customer is returned to your site after they complete the payment process. However, you should ALWAYS verify the payment has been made before shipping. This goes for all payment methods. Chris

Guest
Hi Chris, Thank you for the reply. But my problem is that the customer is brought to the home page of PayPal and not to the payment site. Customers are not able to pay at all. I downloaded scripts and compared with the one in my store and they are all the same. Cannot find the error that the customers cannot get to the correct payment page on PayPal. And Technical Support at PayPal claims that my store does not correspond with PayPal. What is missing ??????? to get to the right payment page for the PayPal Standard. Thank you for your help
