I get the following in my product pages and I was wondering how I can remove them:

 

$products_image_sm_1$ $products_image_sm_2$ $products_image_sm_3$

$products_image_sm_4$ $products_image_sm_5$ $products_image_sm_6$

 

 

I'm new at this so any help with this would be appreciated.

It looks like you have tried to install an images Addon (More Pics Classic?) and messed up the code. Look at the install instructions for that file, and find where you have pasted code in the wrong place. I can't say more without more information.
