Checkout Click on Agreement. To Do or Not To Do

Hello...we ran a growing online store for 5 years now and we don't have very many problems with chargebacks. However, in a recent chargeback we had learned that Visa international--don't think they mind chargebacks because they make money either way--is asking merchants if the site has the click for agreement feature at checkout. The technology is not difficult to implement but we had not done so as we do not want that 1% of bad apples ruining it for everyone--another step to do and another step that raises a flag. However, we are thinking about just go ahead and having it implemented, but that go against one of our core principles that checkout should be made simplest.

So anyone of you had been throught this, and do you have any feedbacks that you can share with us? Please let me know. I thank you for your help!

Sincerely,

Tim

The simplest is to have a link to the T&C on the store and on the checkout page with a javascript that only activates the confirm button once a check box (I have read the T&C and agree to the conditions therein.) has been checked. Most painless solution, people are quite used to it, and most check it without reading it anyway.

Do you have a person or place you would recommend to have a click agreement java script built and installed? I would like to add a click agreement to our site on certain items.
