Images on External Server...advanced problem!

Hi,

I have a very strange problem that I am hoping someone here can help me with.

I have an installation of OSC version 2.2 RC1 at www.lewisburchett.com. I have many extensions installed on the site, but this issue is with On-The-Fly Thumbnailer and hosting images on an external server.

For the past couple of years we have run this site with images hosted on Vendio - I used some bits and pieces of stuff I found here on these forums, and created a way that we could use the same images that were being used for auction sites without actually having to upload them to the OSC site. We used the OTF thumbnailer for its scaling and speed advantages, and it worked perfectly for a couple of years. The thumbnails came up perfectly - fast and scaled either vertically or horizontally...it was great.

Then our hoster (NTC Hosting, AKA Supreme Server) changed something on their hosting and installed something called an Outgoing Connections Manager. This messed the whole site up...since then it does not work correctly. If you go to the site, you will see that all the images are loading, but it is thumbnailing the full file, not downsizing it to a smaller file size for speed, and they also look very choppy because they are just being be downscaled, not actually "thumbnailed" if that makes any sense.

When the admins for the site reviewed it, this is what they said was happening...

Warning</b>: imagejpeg() [<a href='function.imagejpeg'>function.imagejpeg</a>]: Unable to open 'http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/postmaster/thumbnails/Sc678UsedLC.jpg.thumb_315x373.jpg' for writing: No such file or directory in <b>/home/www/lewisburchett.com/product_thumb.

I guess this means that the OSC script is trying to write the thumbnail to the directory on the Vendio server, when before it was writing it to our server. I tried shutting off the Outgoing Connections Manager in the Control Panel and that just makes things worse...no images show up at all.

Not sure what other info someone would require to help me on this - In admin, I used to have "Image Required" set to "False" - now I have to set it to "True" for the images to show up. Also, I tried several versions of OTF Thumbnailer. If you need some more info just let me know - I am pulling my hair out on this thing! Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on this.

SOLVED - thanks, I got this solved - just had to change the product_thumb.php file and the OTF to an older version - for some reason the new one didn't work with this installation.

If anyone wants info on using images on an external server I have the basic info - works pretty well and is great if you are an ebay seller or use Vendio and don't want to have to keep your images updated in two places.
