bobbydbadboy
Can someone please tell me how to password protect a dir. using web shell3? What I know so far is how to get into web shell, via clicking the icon from within the control panel, from there I have clicked on my domain name to the left side of the screen, which has expanded and shows the dir(s) and files which are currently present within the domain web space, from there I have, checked the (check box) to the right of the folder I wish to password protect, from there I have click the folder icon to the left of the dir inwhich I wish to protect, I then have moved back over to the far right of the screen and then have clicked the create .htaccess file>> button, which opens to another screen, which lists these items: Location /my-domain.com/admin AuthType Authentication type being used. In this case, it should be set to Basic AuthName The authentication realm or name AuthUserFile edit/create The location of the password file AuthGroupFile edit/create [OPTIONAL] The location of the group file, if any Require The requirement(s) which must be satisfied in order to grant admission Additional directives I then scroll down to the botton of the contents within that page and click the create button>>, up pops a message box which says, "Please Enter Correct Value For AuthUserFile." Now, this is as far as I have gotten. Could someone help here? Thanks, BDB
