New Is osCommerce for me?

Hi

 

I am new here and about to start my on-line e-commerce site but would like a few questions answered if I could.

 

We intend to sell products from the UK into Europe so we'd need GBP and Euros. Can this be set?

 

We also require the site to add weight as products are purchased where the total is added on checkout.

 

Is osC American orientated or is there a UK version now available?

 

Can anybody recommend a host as we are actually looking at justhosts, who seem to have good write ups and offer osC free. Can you do everything we need with this free version.

 

Is the free version sort of build and go as with sitebuilder?

 

I would appreciate a little help here from a community that looks very friendly.

If you are looking for a drop and shop solution then the current version is not for you. It will do everything you ask, but the current release is at the end of it's life cycle and requires quite a few code changes to mitigate security issues as packaged.

 

If you are comfortable making code changes and don't mind spending two days to ensure the security of your site, and making custom upgrades then go for it.

No, as the oscommerce based on php and html. the php code required knowledge to change it.
