monkeysteez
Hello. I am creating a large store in which we receive orders and send them on to our supplier. Being a drop shipper we need a relatively accurate shipping module that will be close to what our supplier is going to charge for shipping. I am running into some problems trying to find a solution for our needs. And I am getting confused, probably because I am new to this :) Our situation is complicated because our supplier has multiple warehouses throughout the country, and the products will be shipped from the closest warehouse. I am sure that advanced users probably think this is a rather easy issue to resolve but I have had my head buried in my computer for six hours and still have no idea what to do. Is there anyway to resolve this issue using zones, because right now my store automatically charges for shipping from our suppliers main warehouse in CA (where I have our "store" located in the store config. Our supplier ships with UPS and I have the UPS module installed. Ideally the shipping module would charge for shipping from our suppliers closest warehouse to the customer. Thanks for your help in advance! Have a nice day!
burt
I'm not sure that this exists, so you are right to want to get it coded yourself. The way to do this is to ascertain which states are shipped to from each location, then amend the value of your store location to match the shipping location (perhaps zip code) "on the fly". That would be my theory, it should work in practice. At least it might give you an idea...
