Guest Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 A couple of questions for anyone kind enough to help, i think the first problem maybe linked to the second problem. PROBLEM 1: my payment check out procedure is no longer working when i used paypal By that i mean that when i attempt to make a payment to my store via paypal it no longer smoothly goes from the store to paypal back to the store. instead when it jumps to paypal it seems to crash and end up on a generic this paypal page has failed type of message... no payment is sent... it takes a crap. PROBLEM 2: adding UK sterling to my store Prior to my store screwing up it had been working fine and i now think i may have messed it up when i tried to add sterling to the payment module... i failed miserably (not knowing what i was doing) and have now set the prices back to the default US dollars. In short how do i update my payment modules to include UK sterling ? thanks
web-project Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Never heard sort of mess as in your store. Normally very easy to setup the PayPal IPN module with UK sterling (GBP) currency. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Xpajun Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 You shouldn't have to add any currency to your payment module in other words leave the PayPal payment module well alone. Add GBP to admin>>localization>>New Currency then click on update currencies - job done. I suggest you upload your backup of the PayPal module to sort your problem My store is currently running Phoenix 1.0.3.0 I'm currently working on 1.0.7.2 and hope to get it live before 1.0.8.0 arrives (maybe 🙄 ) I used to have a list of add-ons here but I've found that with the ones that supporters of Phoenix get any other add-ons are not really neccessary
web-project Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Add GBP to admin>>localization>>New Currency then click on update currencies - job done. I thought Robert know how add the currency. You need to go to admin -->localization --> New Currency and the following: Code: GBP Symbol Left: £ Symbol Right: Decimal Point: . Thousands Point: , Decimal Places: 2 and set this currency as default. after that you need to enable the PayPal IPN (preferably module) where you can select GBP currency.
