After installing os commerce, which actually went very nicely. However this here I'm not sure about what to do. First time here so please have patience with me. I am not a programmer. I am computer graphics designer. And I am needing a store in which to sell my, geometry.

Warning: i am able to write to the comfiguration file: C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\htdoscs\XXXXXXXXXX\o-shop\catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

Thank you for your assistance.

You're obviously on a Windowz system.

You need to make the file "read only".

If it's on a web server, do it thru your cPanel. If you can't find out how, ask your webhost for assistance.

If it's on your local machine do it via Windowz explorer.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

 I feel terrible !! Why do I always assume NOBODY uses a Windows Server ?

I will try to treat Windows and Unix servers the same from now on.........

But no promises :-"

Chris I honestly wasn't making a "jab" at you with my post. I wouldn't do that. We were posting at the same time and that was the content of my post all along (I didn't realize you were posting as well  )

To the OP:

There is an example of how to do it on your local machine here if you need it.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

Thank you both for your speedy reply.

Not knowing what I'm using could cause some confusion, should have said something myself about the operating system which is actually win XP.

The software I use to serve my web site is Abyss web server.

This is the first commerce software that I have found that works with both Windows and Abyss web server.

I followed the instructions on setting to read-only. And refreshed the web site and everything looks good now.

Thank you very much.

It's all good Jim, I just don't usually consider people using Windows Servers as much as they actually do, so my responses are usually Unix based.
