Im trying to create a sitemap, i have uploaded google_xml_sitemap_seo.sql to server:

 

following the instructions up to number 3:

 

3) Run the included google_xml_sitemap_seo.sql file using phpmyadmin.

 

I have downloaded phpadmin for my mac, this where i am stuck could someone make this next bit easier for me and explain what run the file means and how and where i do this.

An sql file contains database changes that have to be inserted into your database. To do that, one, typically, uses the phpmyadmin program available through their host, though there are other ways. How to do that has been covered many times in these forums (see here) or you can search google for instructions or you can ask your host since many have videos explaining how to do it.

phpMyAdmin needs to be on your host, not on your local computer. If your host does not provide it you can upload the sql to your web space and run it from a browser. It may need a little tweaking...like db name and log in credentials..
