How to sell tickets instead?

Hey everyone,

I'm new to these shopping cart programs but basically I'm working on a city tourism site that I want to sell tickets online. So I wouuld have a heading;

"double-decker tour" a picture and short description stating what the tour is and underneath that I would want to have it so there differents prices for that tour depending on if your a;

student / adult / senior...etc

e.g.

adults 37.50

kids 20.00

seniors 30.00

students 25.00

The user gets to pick the amount/quantity of tickets they want for each category like a drop down menu.

Is it possible to do this using this cart program?

Yes, you can use the attributes to determine the different options available, you may want to look at a mod that allows you to purchase quatities of each ticket.

ie if i wanted the bus tour for 2 adults 3 kids and 1 senior.

I would have to select 2 x product with attribute adult selected.

3 x product with attribute Kid selected.

1 x product with attribute senior selected.

however if I had a mod that allowed qty's against each attribute I could slect.

adults 2

kids 3

senior 1

student 0

this would make it more user friendly

Getting better with mods but no programmer am I.

That should be a simple attibute setup.

List your ticket as one price, then add an attribute for a different age group and set the attribute price as so much more or less than the base price. The stock install has an attribute system that should do what you need. Although I would recommend adding a sort code to the output.

I think there's also an addon that will display the actual price of each attribute option, rather than the amount to be added to the base price. For something like tickets it would probably good to have the actual ticket price for each kind of person rather than say, £20 as the base product price (kids), and adult price as +£17.50 etc. Something I want to add to my site when I get around to it.

Currently using OsC with STS, Super Download Store, Categories Descriptons, Manufacturers Description, Individual Item Status, Infopages unlimited, Product Sort, Osplayer with flashmp3player, Product Tabs 2.1 with WebFx Tabpane and other bits and pieces including some I made myself. Many thanks to all whose contributions I have used!
