pete2007 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Hi, I have been searching for a postcode lookup module, I have found 2 contributions but you have to pay to use them, does anyone know of a free module? Thanks in advance!
FIMBLE Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 The postocde sytem come from a central databse which you have to pay for, i know of nothing that is free to access Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post My Contributions
FIMBLE Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Its a shame as it would be useful! Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post My Contributions
burt Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I am sure that I read somewhere that Royal Mail is going to be releasing this for free sometime this year.
burt Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Well, I don't read many sites, so probably the bbc.co.uk site somewhere.
FIMBLE Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 be nice but i dont see that happening somehow! Maybe im too cynical! Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post My Contributions
web-project Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I am sure that I read somewhere that Royal Mail is going to be releasing this for free sometime this year. I simply don't believe that, as they charge for commercial use. Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.
burt Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8402327.stm Looks like it's the other dataset that is going to be free - geolocation. The postcode lookups will still be charged. Ah well. Knew I'd read something, but couldn't remember the exact details.
