johnnybebad Posted January 1, 2010 Share Posted January 1, 2010 Hi, I read on these forums about people doing checks, are these scans free/ paid or a combination of the two. Just I would like to start scanning/ checking my site/s for vunlerability before i draw too much attention to them. At some point I may have to go down the pci route, but it would be best if I can do free scans get as muched done as I can before I start paying for scans to be done. Is there any advise anyone can give on this please, also does anyone have best prices/service on companies offering pci scans. Its a nghtmare out there knowing who you can trust to do what these days, I havent herd of half the companies out there that do this kind of thing so how do i know they are not a scam and what information if any should you give a company that does a scan for you? Paranoid, maybe, just you hear of scams being run where your asked for more information than is needed but the excuses given atthe time seem plausable. Search online for 'Free PCI Scan.' I use McAfee and it has identified a lot of vulnerabilities that I was simply not aware, and one major issue with my firewall resetting back to default. Op error but I'm certainly glad I found it. The PCI scan may not necessarily be required in your case. It wasn't for me but the information was useful. You may need nothing more than a network and port scan. Even after all this I am still paranoid.... Community Bootstrap Edition, Edge Avoid the most asked question.
