David Johnson Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I have the the cc_cvv2_0.1 module installed and it seems to work very well apart from the following fault. If the shopper omits to put their CVV number in the required field,(some shoppers do not understand what a CVV number is and just leave the field blank) the order is processed but of course the data received does not include the CVV number. Is there anything I can do to make the module return an error message to the shopper that this field must be completed? I have double checked the 'readme' installation advice that downloaded with the module http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,6307/category,1/search,cc_cvv and everything seems to be OK. On the oscommerce admin panel/modules/payment modules/credit card with cvv I have the 'Require CCV2/Require cvv2 numbers?' set to 'true'. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Quote

If your site processes or stores CC info MUST be PCI Compliant ( <= it's a link, click it to read more). And storing the CVV is forbidden under ANY circumstances. Thought I'd toss that out in case you weren't aware. If you violate the PCI mandates and are caught fines can run in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and you can be banned from getting a merchant account for life... I'd hate to see that happen to anyone. If you are aware of all that just ignore me and I'll STFU... :) Quote If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. dynamoeffects Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Try installing the latest dev version: http://github.com/DynamoEffects/Credit-Card-with-CVV2-for-osCommerce/zipball/master There was a typo with the CVV2 check. David Johnson Posted January 1, 2010 Author Posted January 1, 2010 Thanks very much Brian, I'll download and install the module and post back in. Quote
David Johnson Posted January 1, 2010 Author Posted January 1, 2010 Brian, no joy I'm afraid, it still allows a shopper to place an order, and leave the CVV field blank. I uploaded the two module files from your link overwriting the existing files as well as overwriting all of the other files in the installation guide. Quote
David Johnson Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 Until I can get this payment module problem fixed, I have made the payment page more 'shopper proof' by defining exactly what and where the CVV/CVC is, and also added an explanatory image alongside. Quote
