knifeman Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I have one product available in wood or stainless. I have run out of the stainless and just found a peculiarity. I don't see any way to mark the stainless one out of stock. I can delete the attibute or mark the entire product out of stock. I hate to delete it and then have to add it back in later. Am I missing an option somewhere, or is it just not available without a modification? Tim
jhande Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Ahhh... the joys of vanilla attributes. Seriously Tim, there's no way to differentiate product quantities with attributes. Possibly there's a contribution!!!??? I even ran into trouble when I used attributes to offer products in quantity discounts, so I don't bother with them anymore. Good luck! - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -
Fredrik.r Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 You can't track stock for an attribute, mark it out of stock or even deactivate it easily on a vanilla osCommerce install. QTPro allows you to keep track of stock of products and options, like colours and sizes. I've been using it for years, it works very well http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/888

Thanks Jim, I only have a couple of products with attributes and just ran into this situation. When I set up the product, I figured attributes was better than setting up 2 items. I now see the flaw in my reasoning. Tim

I looked at QTPro, but it seems like overkill for my needs. I will just list them as different products. Tim
