I have one product available in wood or stainless. I have run out of the stainless and just found a peculiarity. I don't see any way to mark the stainless one out of stock. I can delete the attibute or mark the entire product out of stock. I hate to delete it and then have to add it back in later.

Am I missing an option somewhere, or is it just not available without a modification?

Ahhh... the joys of vanilla attributes.

Seriously Tim, there's no way to differentiate product quantities with attributes. Possibly there's a contribution!!!???

I even ran into trouble when I used attributes to offer products in quantity discounts, so I don't bother with them anymore.

Good luck! wink.gif

You can't track stock for an attribute, mark it out of stock or even deactivate it easily on a vanilla osCommerce install. QTPro allows you to keep track of stock of products and options, like colours and sizes. I've been using it for years, it works very well

Thanks Jim,

I only have a couple of products with attributes and just ran into this situation. When I set up the product, I figured attributes was better than setting up 2 items. I now see the flaw in my reasoning.

Thanks Fredrik,

I only have a couple of products with attributes and just ran into this situation. I looked at QTPro, but it seems like overkill for my needs. I will just list them as different products.
