sony vinu Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I am currently working on 5 different oscommerce websites and 5 databases. They are all in one server. All of them sell the same products in different languages. What is best way to keep the quantity level same in all the websites . All I need to develop is a central stock control system. They all have the same model numbers. Thanks
Guest Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Sony, Can I ask why you just didn't offer all 5 languages on ONE site ? Chris
sony vinu Posted December 29, 2009 Author Posted December 29, 2009 Hi Chris, Thanks for your response. I did not create the websites. I am quite new to this work. I need to develop a stock control system for the existing system until the new websites are ready with the centralised database. how do I update the stock level in 5 databases whenever the quantity gets updated? Thanks Sony Sony, Can I ask why you just didn't offer all 5 languages on ONE site ? Chris
♥geoffreywalton Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Change the script in the checkout process to decrement the stock in the 5 databases each time something is sold and amend admin/categories.php to update 5 dbs Alternative is to have a cron job to update dbs with the lowst stock level and another to the highest for use after stock has been added.
