chackett Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I discovered recently that my store has been loosing a decent number of customers due to confusion during the PayPal checkout process. I am using the basic / free version of PayPal payments, and I guess once I've handed off the cart to PayPal, my customers are getting confused or frustrated at the process and abandoning the cart. I would like other users opinions as to who the better payment processors are out there, or if there is a "standard mix" of payment options that seem to work well for folks. At this point, my two main concerns / requirements are security and ease of checkout. In an ideal world (in my opinion) there would be pretty much just one or two clicks between clicking the "Checkout" button and when a customer is entering their CC information. I have been looking at amazon payments, 2checkout.com, PayPal, and Google Checkout so far. Thanks, Chris
Guest Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I am using the paypal website payments pro. I like it because you never have to leave the site or your shopping cart in order to place your order. The payment gets processed without ever having to leave my site.
chackett Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 Thanks for the suggestion. I have been considering the PayPal pro option. I definitely think the key problem is that customers don't like having to leave my site (or they don't really understand that they've left the site, and they don't get why they're being asked to log into PayPal. My ultimate goal is to get them checked out as quickly and painlessly as possible. Thanks, Chris
FIMBLE Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 As Mona says PayPal Pro, it does what you want and is easy and quick. Just make sure you fulfill all of thier requirements as they do check your site and will suspend the account until you comply Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post [/url] My Contributions
rc8 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I am trying to setup a site. I paid for paypal website payment pro (partially to get the virtual terminal capability). When reading paypal's instructions on integration, they actually provide a v 1.77 addon for osCommerce. What is in the osCommerce 2.2 distro is v1.0. There is a whole host of new php files in 1.77 without any instructions on integrating mods to existing code. Does that exist for v1.77? Thanks
