MrPhil Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Can you please modify the Holbi ad ("Corporate Sponsor") so that it doesn't keep going to Twitter.com for updates? Sometimes it hangs for several minutes while "transferring data from twitter.com". This is unacceptable, and a waste of everyone's time. Twitter is for twits, anyway. If you can't modify their ad, or block the twitter.com access, can you block the ad completely, or get them to fix it? If you can't fix this, I will have to leave this forum.
Guest Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I have noticed the delays on the forum lately as well. ALSO, why does it take so long when opening a private message that has a code box in it ? I receive script errors when receiving code in private messages. I assume this just started with the forum upgrade. Is this a known issue? Chris

Guest Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Geoffrey, I installed Adblock on this forum because of the extended delays. I didn't want to do that, but could not sit here and wait minutes for the ads to load each time I refreshed. Chris

MrPhil Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 I am going to add turn it off and on again to my list of "repairs". Heh heh. But seriously, as you're using FF, install the Ad Block Plus plug-in and use it to add a block to any ad that takes excessive time. Once, and you're done for life seeing ads from that source. They also have a subscription service to preblock all sorts of advertising sites, if you're so inclined.
