Looks like oss is taking a slight change in development

http://www.ossuite.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=764#764

Basically it seems that oss is going to spend more time on developing the back-end for users to eventually to tie with QB/PT and what not.

Now, what would be nice if osC and oss compared notes. I've always been in favor of teaming up. Imagine... a pos/accounting backend for osC .... yummy

Personal note: I'm glad that oss no longer seems to be a fork.

I am sure that any number of people here would be willing to kick in some $$ toward assuring that development in both remain on parallel (if not converging) tracks.

Please keep me posted, and contact if you're interested in leading the charge...

Leading the charge?

:D I'm basically very lazy and would rather have the simplist possible solution. So, if the two teams would combine efforts (note:: I'm not saying combine totally) as in coding. Users would be in a win-win situation the developers too would only have to worry about their end, ie; osC keeps with the top end which in my opinion kicks a_s and if oss developed the back end I wouldn't have to bother the osC team for a more advanced admin section

However I would like multi-user enviornment :)

osSuite is doing exactly that right now. We've changed the project direction to work in concert with osCommerce instead of duplicating efforts. osSuite is going to be a contribution/add-on module for osCommerce 2.2MS2 (with the future in mind for keeping up with osC 2.2MS3 and higher). We hope to release an updated release within 1-2 weeks.
