Lobster101 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Hi all. I've signed up to Google Product Search and it requires me to start a data feed. Due to my newbieness, I don't know what that is. Where can i find this data feed? I've read up on it, so i do know what it does, but i'm not sure what exactly i'm meant to enter when I'm asked for a "Data Feed Filename". Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
jigga1234 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Hi Do you have the contribution easy populate? Here is a link for the contribution including the product atributes in case you don't If you have this contribution it is as easy as downloading a froogle file which can be done by selecting the froogle output option in easy populate and then doing the following. a.Once you have got this you can either view it in Excel and see if you want to make any changes e.g you might want a shorter description to grab the attention than the standard product description on your own website. b.Once you have made any changes that you want save it as whateveryouwanttocallit.txt and note the location. c.Go to froogle and click add new datafeed. d.type in whateveryoucalledit.txt and click save. e.Go to your datafeeds. f.Click on whateveryoucalledit.txt and hit upload. g.Froogle will announce it is submitting your file and the results will be known soon. h.Wait for your products to be listed..... If you do not have easy populate you can do it this way. 2.You will need to open excel and place these headings in each of the first row of columns A to K with the following link, title, description, price, image_link, id, quantity, product_type, condition, expiration_date, currency (where link is url, image_url is image link, condition is new or old, expiration date is one month in advance, and id is product code) a.Fill in all the information for your products. b.save it as whateveryouwanttocallit.txt and note the location. c. repeat steps 1c to 1h Did this help?
