Free Shipping Cost

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am new to osCommerce and want to give facility of free shipping on all orders to user.

When free shipping price is not selected, then the shipping price should stay as it is now and

when free shipping price option is selected there should say on the top part of the template "Free Shipping on all Orders."

Can any tell me that is there any module or any other thing which i can use for above task?

Thanks in advance

There are free shipping modules in the contributions section, these will give you a free shipping module that will be additional to other shipping methods unless you make it the only module. I don't think they will give you the banner you want but I can't quite see the point of it in the way you say you want it to appear ie after selecting the free shipping option - what is the point of telling the customer there is 'free shipping on all orders' when they know perfectly well that they have already selected free shipping? It seems that the banner should appear somewhere in the product info page or at least prior to selecting the shipping module.

Currently using OsC with STS, Super Download Store, Categories Descriptons, Manufacturers Description, Individual Item Status, Infopages unlimited, Product Sort, Osplayer with flashmp3player, Product Tabs 2.1 with WebFx Tabpane and other bits and pieces including some I made myself. Many thanks to all whose contributions I have used!

Hi Richard,

Thanks for reply

actually client wants the banner thing but I'll discuss with client about banner and do u know any specific module for the shipping requirement?

Just search the addons section for 'free shipping'

http://addons.oscommerce.com

For the banner thing you could look at other addons, for example one of the scrolling text addons, if you'd like it to scroll, or the product info advert one - I haven't tried any of these and there are no doubt other addons for displaying promo text that you can adapt to your purpose - there are so many ways of doing things, just search through the addons, read about what likely sounding ones do, and choose...

There isn't a protect.php that I'm aware of. The permissions are on files, directories, and the configure files.

File permissions generally should be 644, directories 755, and the configure files might be 644 or 444, depending on what it takes for the warning that osc displays if it is able to write to the configure files to go away. You need to look at the security threads and install/implement all the security addons and changes that are recommended to secure your site, if you haven't already done so.

Then can you tell me how can i set the permissions in osc to fix it.

Permissions have to be set in your web site control panel or if you have FTP access, they can be set by FTP.

Depends on your server OS. If it's a Windows based system you can just set the file read only. Otherwise for a 'nix based system set the file permissions in the normal way using chmod. Or install the chmod addon: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6282
