Header Banner

I've been able to change the banner in the footer of the page, but have been unsuccessful in changing it in the header. I placed the banner I wanted on the first line in the Banner Manager page, activated it, but still no luck. I've even deleted the OS Commerce banner, but it still shows up anyway. I've seen another OS Commerce web site with the store name in the header. I am totally new to this so some "OS Commerce for dummies" instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Cindy,

You can create and upload a new banner to the catalog>images folder and then change the file header.php to reflect the change of banner name.

Look for store_logo.png in the header.php file. Replace that file name the name of the new banner you just uploaded into the catalog>images folder.

That's it.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your quick response. I followed your instructions, but it's still not working. Do you think it's because the people that loaded OS for me named it "store" instead of "catalog". The only place I could find a store_logo.png in a header.php file was in store/admin/includes. Changed it to the name of the file that was created. That file was saved as a .gif.

Cindy,

Depending on if you have a template or not, there SHOULD be a header.php file in the store>includes folder. Sometimes template designers disable this code and replace it with a hard code in the index.php file but it is hard to say without seeing it.
