How do I turn the e-commerce off for testing

Hi, I need to test the site by placing dummy (i.e. not real) orders. Currently the site is live, and I need to turn off the actual credit card charges to fully test the site. How do I do this? Basically I am altering the design.

Also, once I'm finished modifying the design, I need to turn the credit card charging back on.

Is this simple or complicated? How would I go about it?

thanks

There's a test card module/number built into osc. For Paypal there's a sandbox, other payment methods probably have them too, it depends to some extent on what sort of payment handling process you use in accepting cards.

www.jyoshna.com. Currently using OsC with STS, Super Download Store, Categories Descriptons, Manufacturers Description, Individual Item Status, Infopages unlimited, Product Sort, Osplayer with flashmp3player, Product Tabs 2.1 with WebFx Tabpane and other bits and pieces including some I made myself. Many thanks to all whose contributions I have used!

I'm using Authorize.net. I found in the admin, in the modules. If I click "edit" I have the option not to accept credit cards. Can I select the "not accept credit cards," test the site, make changes, then turn it back on? I just want to make sure I don't screw up the current set up.

thanks

There are also down for maintenance contributions/add ons that only allow certain ip addresses to use the site, everyone else gets a standard message.

Need help installing add ons/contributions, cleaning a hacked site or a bespoke development, check my profile
