Ben Nevis Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Filezilla is just an ftp program. It isn't going to upload malicious code unless you selected such code to be uploaded, knowingly or unknowingly, including perhaps copying files from one hacked domain to another. But that wouldn't be filezilla's fault. There are several ways to hack osc, make sure your site is protected using all security measures and not just 'strong passwords' - which are useless if there are vulnerabilities that can be exploited. www.jyoshna.com. Is there any one facing this problem? I would recommend using SSH for all FTP transactions. This can help prevent having your traffic listened in on, and potentially help protect your FTP password, which can be sniffed out over an unsecure connection. FileZilla is capable of SSH, and can be setup in Site Manager. Contact your host to determine if they support SSH, and establish the passwords and usernames just as you would with regular FTP.

If your pc is hacked into (by a filezilla aware hacker) your sites are toast. Disclaimer: unless I'm out of date but the info was pretty recent.
