Anyone know of....

This is off the osCommerce topic but I don't know where else to ask the question.

I am looking for an open source app made specifically for an online magazine. (we are going to add a used book store using osCommerce. This will be my second osCommerce project. )

Does anyone know of any, other than SPIP (french CMS, nice but in french)?

Thank you for any suggestions,

Doug

Article management is the main criteria.

The ideal system would:

Allow visitors to submit short stories and graphics

Create PDF of magazine

Manage back issues

Manage the status of stories (approved, rejected, published, etc)

Define magazine sections: cover, editorials, book reviews, departments

Manage subscriptions

Etc.

Basically I was hoping to find an open source product that was specifically designed to be used for an online magazine or something close to it.

Do you know what open source software is considered to be the best for article management?

I don't like you :) I haven't been to freshmeat before. I did a search on CMS filtered by php and found several programs that could have some of what you want. I downloaded 2, or was that 3...... Anyway, there was ezPublish and a news application, so I would look there a little more and be open minded as to what it might be called or hidden in :?

You hurt my feelings

I know I looked at ezPublish, I could have sworn it had a very complex language associated with it. maybe I confused this with something else. That happens when you're searching in the wee hours of the morning and you have a few beers in you. I will take a hard look at it.

Sorry

 My eyes glazed over so much that I didn't see the filter the first time, so when I found it I jumped for joy! You can filter on free and not free also. ezPublish for example is open source to use, but there is a licence if you want to develop it into a separate application and sell it to others.
