meshdesign Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 are there any contributions out there that let you group a section of products together to put a special offer on the group.. for instance i have 80 different hair dye colours.. now i dont want to have one hair dye product with 80 different options for the attributes. so i was wondering if there was a way to group these products and then apply a buy two of these 80 products and get 1 of these 80 products free? i have seen the get 1 free contribution but that is restricted to single products. thanks in advance dan
Terminum Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I've been looking for a contribution like this as well, unfortunately to no avail. What I ended up doing is putting the buy 3 get 1 free message on all the relevant product pages, and below it I include instructions to specify which model they would like for free in the comment section when they check out. So they only select three to put in their cart and then just write the forth product name in the comment section upon checkout. Sort of confusing, and they don't always get it right, but it's better than nothing.
meshdesign Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 I'm surprised there arent many contributions to handle special offers with oscommerce - especially as it is a shop based CMS system. The logic in making the contribution seems simple - group products - name group e.g. Hair Dye - apply an offer to group - buy x get x free, 30% discount etc etc. Now if only i had any idea about how to code PHP...!
