Ghoastrider Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I have a few web pages all made from MS Front page. Recently I decidedto have on line sales. Merchant Account and gateway are in place. I chose OSCommerce as my shopping cart because it was compatible and of no cost. It is downloaded into my Server URL. I undersatand the admin tools but have no idea how to change headers, footers, page color, fonts or any other thing. Please HELP. Phil 586-924-1974 Is there anyone who can just call and get me started with a little insight. Please call, I will gladly call back if you are not a Verizon customer. Thank you guys and gals. Terminum Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 osC does not include a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor. You'll need basic html and css skills to customize the look of your osC installation. The style sheet in the catalog folder called stylesheet.css will allow you to do this.
Ghoastrider Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 Thank you for the reply> It is much easier to get some direction on certain things if you can speak with someone knowledgable onthe subjuct. I just need some basic direction to figure this out. Any chance of a phone call? Phil 586-924-1974
Guest Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Phil, You could install the FCK Editor which simplifies the product description process because it uses a modified WYSIWYG concept. http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2900 Chris

Ghoastrider Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 You are talking Greek at this time. I can use my front Page to open up files and make changes. I just need some direction exactlly what is related to what on the page. I'm a pilot by trade with just a little bit of HTML insight. I am asking for assistance from some ofthe experts. It's difficult to explain because I do not understand the terminology. Again, any chance of a call 586-924-1974.
Guest Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Hi Phil, Unfortunately I won't be able to call you to discuss this. I do this work for a living, and although I offer advice here on the forum I do not offer free advice for consultations. Please feel free to post any/all questions here if you would like advice. Chris

Take a look here http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/topic/274968-how-do-i-all-the-basic-install-questions-regularly-asked/ or you can find it right at the beginning of the installation and configuration help section. Stick with it, you'll pick it up. Im still making errors, but its a good way to learn.
Ghoastrider Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 Thank you for everyones input. I was able to start making changes and getting things turned in the direction I needed.
