Has anybody used or is anybody using Axel's contribution for Product Expiry Date? (http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2064)

I have installed the addon (v1.1) but doesn't seem to work. I have set a few products to be expired on Dec 01 but till today, they are still published on my website. Can anyone guess where the problem is??

Thanks!

It will be necessary to add a new field 'Date_Expired" in the PRODUCTS database. Changes to the admin/categories.php and a script to automatically expire the products in the application_top.php will be required.

You may struggle getting people to test this as it includes many core code changes, which many people do not like doing now. If you could figure out a way of building this as a quick install module, then you may get support.

REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP

@14steve14 Good day to you and thank you very much for the comment.

I am not a professional coder and have not fully understood how the whole structure of OSCOMMERCE works. I really have no idea how to make things modular and install-able with a single click. I only saw this "products_date_available" module and thought it could be enhanced to include managing expired products, and special prices for the alert messaging matter.

However, I hope people see the usefulness of this add-on, and will not be troubled by the difficulty to implement it.

Cheers!
