Home page height

I am wanting to reduce the height of the home page on our site. There is a lot of wasted space between the header and footer. Can I do this without effecting the height of all other pages?

 

I have to admit I am struggling to find the relevant files to adjust.

A problem like this can't be definitively addressed unless you are willing to post a link to the site in question so the "wasted space" can be located, then possibly it can be eliminated without adverse affects on other pages.
