toolcrazy Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 It was really weird. All of a sudden my site showed an error message that said the session file was full. I was having the sessions saved to a file. The only way I could get it to work again was move sessions to mySQL. I don't know what caused it. But, it was really weird. Has anybody else run across this problem? And is there anyway to prevent this in the future? Thanks for the imput Steve -------------------------
Christian Lescuyer Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 On my Linux Box, each session is in a separate file... Can't see that happen. Disk full, yes, but not that. Christian Lescuyer
toolcrazy Posted February 21, 2003 Author Posted February 21, 2003 I thought it was weird. I can't reproduce the error message or I would post it. I did a minor change to Ian's sid killer and then moved the sessions back to file, but now it is working. If I get the same message again I'll post it. I know it isn't a full disk. I'm using about 5megs of a 100meg limit. Steve -------------------------
toolcrazy Posted March 19, 2003 Author Posted March 19, 2003 I just had another encounter with /tmp/ or sessions. I went to upload a file that I just modified and my FTP said that my disk was full. Now this wasn't possible, I only have 18meg on a 100 meg limit. I couldn't figure it out. So I tried one thing, I went and emptied the temp folder, and all of a sudden everything was fine. Too weird. Any suggestions to prevent this, I don't have cron access. Steve -------------------------
Christian Lescuyer Posted March 19, 2003 Posted March 19, 2003 Could you empty the tmp dir in admin/application_top? It would clear the directory each time you log in admin. I'm unsure how you can empty the session dir without breaking current sessions. Maybe check the file time? Christian Lescuyer
