midpen Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 How to make items unable to "add to cart" when they are out of stock? Currently, if the item is out of stock, it is still able to be checked out, only there is a description says: Products marked with *** dont exist in desired quantity in our stock. You can buy them anyway and check the quantity we have in stock for immediate deliver in the checkout process. which doesn't make sense if I am unable to get those items soon.
K3D Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Go to admin -> configuration -> stock -> allow checkout = false
midpen Posted December 2, 2009 Author Posted December 2, 2009 Thank you! I tried. The situation is: it still can be "added to cart". When you click "checkout" in the shipping_cart page, it still goes to next page (checkout_shipping page). Once you click "continue" in the checkout_shipping page, it goes back to the shopping_cart page. Yes it is finally unable to checkout, but should not be that back and forth. I would like to tell customers the item is out of stock when click to see the product description. It should be unable to "add to cart". It is a common situation if you have hundreds of products and did not remove the sold items on time. Thanks for the help!
jhande Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Try doing a Google search. I remember long ago a fix for that but I can't remember if I got it from the forum or contributions section. - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -

jhande Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I believe this is the one I used - Show Sold Out Items v1.1 by sabaina 15 Feb 2007. Also I seem to remember changing something with that so I won't be able to help too much (plus my mind is shot ). - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -
