Help! - Can't see all my products anymore

Being fairly new to oscommerce I thought I was doing fairly well until one of my customers noticed that not all the products in a category where showing, I'm only seeing the first 4.

 

There used to be buttons to navigate to the next page in order to see the rest of the products in the category but now they seem to have disappeared.

 

I think it must be a database problem as I have rolled back to an earlier version of the site (files only) and still cannot see the next page.

I have now confirmed it is a database problem.

 

If I restore an older version of the database I am able to see the navigation items to move between pages.
