Suzanne Bradley
I have recently installed OScommerce via Fantastico on my new webspace. It was 'populated' from a backup of my databases etc from my old ISP websites. However, even thought he front page seems to workok, as do one or to other bits. All I seem to get are errors :- 1054 - Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause' select count(p.products_id) as total from products_description pd, products p left join manufacturers m on p.manufacturers_id = m.manufacturers_id, products_to_categories p2c left join specials s on p.products_id = s.products_id where p.products_status = '1' and p.products_id = p2c.products_id and pd.products_id = p2c.products_id and pd.language_id = '1' and p2c.categories_id = '73' [TEP STOP] Can anyone advise what went wrong with the installation? The website is at http://andibradley.com/store/index.php if you would like to look and see the error fo yourself. Here's hoping Suzanne
Suzanne Bradley
I also should add, that I am unable to get into the admin side, all I get is an internal server error. Thought this might be relevent? Suzanne.
Suzanne Bradley
Well I guess no-one knows, but I found out what my problem was. My old shop was built on OSCommerce V2 I think the new one was built on V2.2, and I guess the files that make it all tick aren't compatible. So you live and learn. All seems well now. jigga1234
just visited your site and I still get lots of errors if I click on virtually all of your categories. Are you seeing the errors? Example 1 Example 2 Example
MrPhil
Your new server is MySQL v5, and the old installation was MySQL v4. See http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/topic/335136-osc-and-mysql-5-1054-errors for (a start on) code changes you need to make to any version of osC to make it MySQL 5 compatible. Suzanne Bradley
Your new server is MySQL v5, and the old installation was MySQL v4. I think I just lost all my faith in OScommerce. I guess my shop will remain offline until someone puts out a suitable OScommerce for MySQL 5. I really shouldn't have to mess with code in programs, especially when I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. Thanks for the help folks. Suzanne. Suzanne Bradley
Well I had a look for something else to run my shop on, didn't like them at all, guess I like OS Commerce too much. I bit the bullet, and after two aborted attempts, I now think I had a 'servicable' shop. I think it fixed mine, but then, mine was a vanilla install. Suzanne. MrPhil
Good to hear you're up and running now. Unfortunately version 2.2 is basically unsupported (I don't ever expect to see 2.2 Gold), except for this community.
