westmidsguy Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 okay how do i do this? im based in the uk and I would like the customer to be able to select visa mastercard etc how do I do this? i have seen the payment options in admin bt they are not clear. any suggestions?
multimixer Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 You need to enable one of the preinstalled payment modules via admin (ie authorize.net), or to take another one from the contributions Do do this, you need to have first an account at the payment gateway page, so you need to visit their website and create one. You will get some data from there, like passwords etc, that you need to enter into the osCommerce module (whatever you choose) during enabling it I would spend some time on the various payment gateways pages to see what they offer and what the conditions are. Terminum Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 If you are in need of a fast solution and/or haven't worked with a payment gateway before, I would recommend making an account at PayPal.com and use PayPal Payments Standard. Pros - You don't need SSL - Very fast to set up - Easier than more advanced, more integrated methods - Most internet users are familiar with PayPal - You don't need a PayPal Pro account, so it's free (aside from per transaction fees) Cons - Your customers will be taken away from your site to PayPal.com to make payment (they will be returned to your site after they pay)
