Simplyfying products

Hi.

I've inherited an existing store and I'm looking for a way to streamline the existing set-up, both on the user side and back end.

Currently the products (frames), come with three options (base product + upgraded finish + weight of frame)

At the moment, each product (say a 20x20 frame) has attributes attached to it that are static (i.e 20x20 +1.50 for finish +2 for upgrade weight)

What I'd like to do is have it set so that those attributes are a percentage increase rather than a numeric that I have to input.

So instead of having 100's of attributes (the upgrades cost more the larger the frame is), is it possible to have two percentage increase attributes that are applied automatically to all products as options across the board?

This way, if my costs increase for the finishing, then I can amend the attributes simply and easily.

Also (which no doubt is a whole other topic on it's own...), if it's possible for the price displayed onscreen to reflect the changes, that would be great.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but a search didn't turn up any help.

Alex
