chrisnosleep
Is there anyway to stop a shipping option from showing up for a category? Too many people do not read my DO NOT CHOOSE MEDIA MAIL IF ORDERING APPAREL message and choose Media Mail when ordering shirts, sweatshirts, etc, so need to know if there is a way to stop media mail from showing when someone orders something in the apparel category, help! Guest
you could use the multi vendor shipping contrib (search for MVS) which allows you to select which shipping methods can be used with which products. You just set up a vendor (you can set up as many vendors as you like) and then install all the shipping methods that you want to each particular vendor. Then in each product page use the drop down to select the right vendor and hey presto when the customer checks out only those methods installed will be visiable. Some problems I am having with in: 1. When you have more than one shipping method installed for a vendor, if the cart weight is above a particular method, it still displays the method but with a selectable £0.00 rate. Not so good!! 2. If, like me, you have big thigs that need towing behind a car to deliver and then small things that go in the post, then when a customer orders a big thing and a little thing then they get charged 2 lots of postage. In reality the big cost of the big item would cover the small items. Otherwise this is a great contrib

♥kymation
Vendor is not the same thing as manufacturer to MVS. Vendors are set up completely separate from anything in stock osCommerce.
