grayland Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I hope I am not out of place in asking a few basic questions. I have built many sites befor, but not any like this. I have read the Documentation pdf. I have uploaded the catalog directory to my server, like I have done 1000's of times with HTML files, pics and videos. the next step says:All PHP files must be uploaded in ASCII mode, not binary mode. 1. how is this done .. please? I have been using Cute FTP/html for years , so not sure about phpmyadmin. 2. Is this something I need to download ? Or can I use word, or cutehtml? Please be kind, as I don't want to appear dumb. Just will take a bit of getting use to. I did quite a bit of PHP years ago , but have lost it. Thank you
Guest Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Hi, I am no sure about cuteftp, but I know filezilla will auto-switch between formats depending on file type. If you are not sure if your ftp will auto-switch you can set the type in transfer mode or file transfer type in most cases. Chris
grayland Posted November 17, 2009 Author Posted November 17, 2009 Thank you but, the posting by Vger, (pined) does not say anything about switching anything , other than the 755 777 I do have question as it is not clear.. Should I change all folders to 755 and if that does not work change all folders to 777? Here's the quick install guide. 1. Create a blank database via your web hosting control panel. ect....
