Greetings, Fellow Forum members.

This post maybe in the wrong forum, it is posted here because the original post started here.

My understanding of the first steps for achieving success with your website, is certified error free HTML coding on all pages and for all CSS, both internal and external.

The kind of certification I refer to can be found at the W3C websites. Below find links to the CSS and HTML validation.

http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_input

http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload

http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_uri

Find below the links for Markup language.

http://validator.w3.org/#validate-by-upload

http://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_uri

http://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_input

Also see the W3c School page...

If you have already voted please refrain from repeat.

Hello, Burt.

Using your criterion, many of us would have to shut down our PC’s while we look for a user interface to replace the very bug infested MSWindows…

There are lots of bugs in this world. Some learn to deal with them.

Completely ridiculous :D

Hello, Burt…

Completely ridiculous Says Burt.

Burt says don’t use the W3C Validator because it contains bugs.

When continuous negative replies are posted with groundless attempts to diminish other members, there is usually an ulterior motive, lying beyond what is evident, revealed, or avowed, especially being concealed intentionally so as to deceive.

The motive here will be found on Burt’s profile page,

Where he has blatantly skirted the forum rules as seen below.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rules:

Commercial postings and linking to external sites providing osCommerce related products and services are not allowed on the osCommerce Community Support Forums. If you wish to present a commercial solution or service to the community please consider participating in the osCommerce Corporate Sponsorship program.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

See Burt’s external links, some gif hot-links. All of the links lead to either directly or indirectly solicitation of payment for assistance in setting up the OsCommerce store.

If these solicitations are not in direct violation of forum rules they are certainly in violation of “Good Faith” concerning standards of this forum.

It appears to some that Burt does not want you to be able to help yourselves, thereby not needing his products.

Look at his sales approaches and judge for yourselves.

Actually, I make ZERO by recommending those eBooks, I make zero by Twittering, I make zero by running a blog! Not one cent from any of it. You probably won't believe that, but it is the truth. I don't mind how you make your money, why do you mind and why are you interested in how I make mine? Very suspect!

Anyway, back on topic;

I've shown you that the so called "validator" that you love so much is broken, it has 88 errors the last time I looked at it. I have said in your other thread that if everyone learned to make correct code in the first place, no tools would be needed to give you false hope. Dead Fish.

As for my meaning of `completely ridiculous`; to support your flawed viewpoint, you say "Using your criterion, many of us would have to shut down our PC’s while we look for a user interface to replace the very bug infested MSWindows…". Actually it would be more like this; if MS Windows is broken, use Lindows, or Ubuntu, or buy a Mac. Anything so that you don't have to rely on a broken tool!

Again, to anyone following any of the threads that Robert has posted in - really, don't rely on the viewpoint of 1 person, especially when that person will not accept advice. Take into account other people views (perhaps even on other forums), and make up your own mind. Search your options, rather than take anything that anyone (including me) says as good faith.

"Never forget that only dead fish swim with the stream". WTF, seriously, you and Sarah Palin need to study the life cycle of the salmon.
