Guest Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Hi everyone, first post here, I installed oscommerce on to a site I'm working on, I added the first product and then realised there were no paragraphs or anything it was just one block of text, I'd forgotten to put put <p> in so I clicked edit went back in to add a <p>, clicked preview and it took me back to the index page of the website rather then the preview page. I can't figure out why it is doing this or how to rectify it so I'd really appreciate some suggestions. Thanks :D
Guest Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Nobody have any ideas? I really have no clue as to what's causing this.

Guest Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 I haven't made any modifications, all I 'm trying to do is make paragraphs on the product descriptions so it's not all one block of text. I've used oscommerce for years and never come across this problem, even on older installs / websites I tried editing some old product descriptions and the same thing happens.

Did u give me neg feedback for last reply!! Your behaviour is non-standard for ms2 or rc2a stores, so youve non-standard code somewhere, so I cant tell u how to fix when your code differs from mine, try using the categories.php file from the latest distrib, though that will fail if your site is ms2. Do you know what version you have?B)
Guest Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 I don't see how my reply came across as negative feedback, I just said what the problem was I didn't say anything bad about you I appreciate your help, sorry if my post offended you in some way. On my cpanel the only thing I can assume is related to the version is where it says - 2.2 Release Candidate 2a + buySAFE, does that mean anything? Like I said I've installed oscommerce on a few sites over the years and never come across this problem before and now all my sites new(installed in september) and old(installed over 4 years ago) are affected in the same way.

This problem isn't a known symptom of the latest hack but it's worth checking. Read more here I mention this only because you speak of old sites suddenly not working. I have seen a thread or two about this identical problem, but don't recall what the fix was, and searching for them would probably be akin to the proverbial "needle in a haystack". If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. Guest Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Thanks for that, just had a check and I can't see anything unusual in the files so hopefully I haven't been hacked, I did search for this problem and it came up with 1 person with the exact same thing but it was months ago and they didn't get it sorted(or didn't post to say how they sorted it out). Think it's worth just deleting the whole thing and starting afresh?

Think it's worth just deleting the whole thing and starting afresh? If it's a new site you just started, re-FTPing the files to the server and installing again wouldn't be such a a bad thing. (IMHO) One of the admin files may have gotten a glitch when you uploaded it to the site. Ultimately it's your call... If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. Guest Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 I've uninstalled and re-installed and the problem is still there, anybody have any ideas as to what could be causing it?
