shipping based on postcode

Hi All;

 

I would like to know how to setup OSC so that only customers in specific postcode can purchase the products.

Every body outside the specified postcodes must call the shop (i.e. the order does not get processed).

 

Each Postcode will have it's own shipping rate.

There is probably way to use zones settings with some mods to make what you want happen, but are you sure you mean postcodes and not postal areas?

Well I suppose I can use postal areas. How do I set this up?

I don't use zone based shipping myself so I can't tell you. There are, however, many zone based shipping contributions you could look at, including ones using UK postcodes or counties, that you could look at to see the general methods by which shipping costs can be determined by reference to geographic zone information. The part which you may have to write yourself is to disable checkout in cases where the customers are outside of any zones for which you have specified a shipping rate and have a 'please call' message displayed instead, although I note contribution 1752 does disable shipping and display a message where a zone rate has not been set for the customer's zone. Look at a few zone shipping contributions, read the code, it should be possible to put something together to do what you want.
