Checkout takes me back to login page

I created an account on my site and logged in, then I placed an item in the cart and clicked the checkout button and it takes me back to log in page page for some reason. Appreciate any help. Thanks

Checking with the web developer plugin in Firefox the site isn't making any cookies at all.

 

Looks to me like because of that the session ID is being lost and the cart gets' dumped.

 

I'd try these:

 

  define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', '.leachholdingsltd.com');
 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', '.secure.hostmonster.com');
 define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/');
 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/');

And in the stylesheet this line is causing "non secure items" popup in IE

 

background-image : url('http://leachholdingsltd.com/abtwater/images/waterbackground.jpg');

Should be:

 

background-image : url('images/waterbackground.jpg');

Don't hard code HTTP links to images when using SSL.

I made an account, put something in the cart, clicked "Checkout" and went right to the checkout page (cart contents intact).

 

It works fine for me.

Thanks for looking Jim. What happens is that when you confirm checkout, then it process the credit card, then it goes to a login page instead of saying transaction complete. It was working fine until about 2 days ago. The transaction is processed by the merchant account, but the order is not in the oscommerce admin section.

 

We have our own dedicated server with hostgator, and our own ssl. Nothing has been changed, so I am not sure what caused this.

 

The last thing I recall doing is that I edited the index page, but I looked at a backup copy of it, and it was the same, so that's not it.

 

It is dropping the session somewhere, and the merchant account people have said that they are not having any issues. I am thinking it's a cookie/sessions issue? Maybe something in the database?

 

I have got to get this back up running soon. I appreciate any help you can offer.

 

It would help if I could get an error message, but I am not getting one. I checked the error logs in cpanel, and nothing there!

I'm having this same issue on a fresh install. I see that this thread is a month old, but wondered if anyone subscribed to it had any further insights since. Thanks in advance!
