movingfusion Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Hi all, I have been looking around all over the web and even consulted my infrastructure supplier about this, but to no avail yet. I am running a download store where customers can purchase large files, between 400 to 700 MB in size. Currently there seems to be a time-out set somewhere within OsCommerce, which causes nearly all file downloads to time out around 50 to 75% of the download progress. My infrastructure supplier hints in the direction of PHP session time-outs, but I have not yet found a setting to be made within the OsCommerce files. Can anybody point me into the right direction? Where are PHP session time-outs to be changed?

I suspect you need to look at the php.ini file, or there might be php command you can use to alter the relevant setting temporarily by placing it in the download/downloads.php files. But I would suggest you split the download into a number of smaller files if you can, and use Super Download Store to set up group file downloads. As a customer I'd think it better not to have to download one huge file all at once than to have a number of smaller files, as things can always happen whilst downloading and it would be a real drag to have to restart such large downloads from the beginning everytime something went wrong, especially if it was nearly finished when it did. www.jyoshna.com. Currently using OsC with STS, Super Download Store, Categories Descriptons, Manufacturers Description, Individual Item Status, Infopages unlimited, Product Sort, Osplayer with flashmp3player, Product Tabs 2.1 with WebFx Tabpane and other bits and pieces including some I made myself. Many thanks to all whose contributions I have used!
